Member here, worth every penny even though they clawbacked the discounts and perks, still a great place to visit all year round. I had a membership from the mid 80's to mid 90's. Over the 10 years, I visited about once a week, so I'd estimate about times. I knew the place inside out, had every presentation memorized and was on a first name basis with many of the presenters.
I just went a few weeks ago for the first time in about 10 years with my 2-year old. What an unbelievable disappointment. Compared to what it used to be, it felt like visiting an empty warehouse. The whole nutrition exhibit was replaced with a pretend supermarket and playhouse. What does that have to do with science? The sports science exhibit is a sparse playroom.
The laser area is a place to play with blocks. The space exhibit is intact, but decades out of date to the point where it's just pointless. Yet I hope they don't update it because they'll just rip everything out and put in a ball pit or something. I won't do a play-by-play, but they used to have about 15 different live shows, each several times a day.
